Quality Assurance

A Best Interest Assessment authorises — or refuses — a deprivation of liberty. Nothing we release matters more than getting it right, so every single Form 3 passes senior QA review before it reaches you.

Our QA framework

Senior BIA review of every report against a structured quality standard
Legal literacy checks — necessity, proportionality, less-restrictive options, conditions
The person’s voice, wishes and feelings evidenced, not assumed
Consultation properly recorded, including objections
Annual assessor appraisal, case-law updates and refresher training

Feedback loops

QA findings feed back to assessors individually and to the network in anonymised learning notes. Signatory feedback from commissioning authorities is actively sought and tracked — if a report ever needs amendment, we treat it as a system finding, not a one-off.
